There are days when the facts of life that confront me are overwhelming. It’s on those days that I vigorously sift the facts from truth and cry out to Abba Father to hide me in the reality of His truth. I want His truth as my reality. I marinate my thoughts in it, swim in it, and clothe myself in it. I see it, taste it, feel it, hear it and guard His truth against any assault that negates it’s reality in my life. I believe this represents the ‘good fight of faith’ that Paul tells Timothy to do. (1Timothy 6:12)
For every fact, there are numerous absolute truths from Yahweh, who unflinchingly declared “I AM the way and the truth and the life….” (John 14:6). Therefore, with the help of Holy Spirit, whose responsibility is to “…lead me into all truth…” (John 16:13) I shift my mindset and re-write the software in my head, until the facts align to His truth.
This is by no means a word game, playing mental gymnastics, some new age chant, name it and claim it belief, or Christian flavor of the month. This is God’s TRUTH. This is truth that dwells in the mind of Christ. (2Corinthians2:16; Philippians 2:5). By re-writing the brain software, we are being transformed by renewing our mind…(Romans 12:2). And this is our ultimate goal, to look like Him, think like Him, be like Him, for as He is so are we in this world. (1John 4:17)
We were made for this. Below are just a few software changes I’m re-programing today. Not only am I reprogramming, but I’m also examining to ensure that my life, my relationship with Abba is as a delighted son/daughter with a “YES” in my heart to HIM:
FACT: I am alone
TRUTH: I am never alone for the Lord has said, “He will never leave me nor forsake me.” I am with you always. (Matthew 28:20; Deuteronomy 31:6 & Hebrews 13:5)
FACT: I feel weak
TRUTH: The joy of the Lord is my strength; In my weakness He is strong. The Lord is my strength and shield. (Psalm 28:7; Nehemiah 8:10; 2Corinthians 12:9)
FACT: I see no hope for my future
TRUTH: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
FACT: I need a breakthrough
TRUTH: “No good thing shall He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11). “My God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19-20)
FACT: I’m afraid of the tasks ahead and the unknown
TRUTH: (These verses were my rock during a season of battling cancer). “His perfect love casts out all fear.” “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength;” “His grace is sufficient for me.” “Greater is He in me, than He who is in the world.” (1John 4:18; Philippians 4:13; 2Corinthians 12:9; 1John 4:4)
FACT: My enemies seem more powerful than me
TRUTH: I cling to this prayer, picture and truth when a Goliath comes spewing empty threats: “Lord, give me eyes of Joshua, Caleb and David, to see every giant as a grasshopper to be crushed under my feet, for you have promised that “the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.” (Romans 16:20) “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” (Isaiah 54:17)
I encourage you today, that for every fact before you, to find God’s truth, and let that truth become your unwavering reality.
